Adam Roud is a freelance sculptor, who after many years as a sculptor for many well know sculptors has been given the opportunity to work on his own designs.
Brief
Adam approached us wanting something very specific. He was not interested in any fancy, new fangled websites, nor was he interested in being found on the internet. He wanted a site that people had to be told about, or be linked to. When we sat down for discussions he was very up front and presented his portfolio, a no nonsense stack of A4 paper, with simple wording and exceptional imagery. There was nothing special about the printing process, simply that each photo had been taken carefully and professionally to showcase exactly the sculptor that had been crafted for so many hours. The brief was, I want this piece of paper on the internet.
Solution
We could have just uploaded a PDF onto the internet and said job done, but that would be insulting to Adam and to our trade. The idea was simple, we needed to pick the correct typography, showcase all his imagery and wash everything else out. We did put in a sophisticated gallery and have a roll over menu structure, but these are in the style of the original document. The main thing was, short descriptions, and amazing photographs. Adam brought the art to the table, it was simply our job to arrange it.
